Our butchery sources meat from not only our own farm but from other local farms who share our philosophy that animals left to range freely in high welfare systems give much tastier, tender meat. We use Longhorn cattle that’s been allowed to slowly mature in the lush pastures of North Leicestershire. We then dry age the meat here at Betty’s for four weeks, to ensure quality and flavour, as standard. That means our burgers are made from the same premium beef as our fillet steak.
Our chicken and pork comes from Packington Free Range, where Robert and Alec are as equally passionate about provenance, sustainability and ethical farming as we are.
Our lamb is all home produced from our flock of ewes, who graze freely in the same pastures as our hens.
All our meat is sourced and delivered as “whole” carcass giving us the flexibility to provide you with not only the best cuts but bespoke cuts that are not always available at other butchers. We can also source other products including game depending on season so don’t hesitate to ask in the shop or pre-order from home before you visit. At Christmas we stock local turkeys so look out for our turkey and vegetable ordering forms to take the stress out of Christmas.
